Hello from Dartmoor and the Baskervilles
Hi all. Thanks to all you hi-tech geeks who got us a new blog. Best thing since sliced bread. And thanks to Robert for constantly tickling our brain cells.
As Kelly says, I was a busy bee in the Ukraine and Georgia. I'll be brief here, as I am on my hosts computer in Devon. Three hours from London on the train and glorious sunshine, great friends and too much food and booze. Back to the former Soviets. I had told Boss Ted I can no longer do two nights on the trot - so I did FIVE!!! Saw little of Kiev, but Tbilisi (get the atlas) was lovely and backward (no parking signs anywhere) warm people and fresh food. We flew there in a charter DC9 over the Caucasus mountains (half as high as Everestand snow clad) and our piulot dipped this way and that for a scary view - great.
Gotta go now, you have Kelly's picture - that was a great day. After Kelly I wandered up to Notting Hill for no great reason, walked into the first pub and a voice said ' My God, Hugh O'Keefe!' (He was right on both counts) He was an old classmate of Julina McMahon. Petit monde, indeed.
Can't post pictures, but will bore you with them when I get back. Much love, Hugh
